HRCR BRITISH HISTORIC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP
The waxworks rally team are planning to run a second car this year. The new car should be ready around mid season and will compete on the remaining gravel rounds of this years Dunlop HRCR British Historic Rally Championship, selected rounds of the Northern Historic Stage Championship and also form half of a 2 car team on the epic 3 day Roger Albert Clark Rally in late November.
The new car, a 1967 Volvo 144S will run in the up to 2 litre Historic category along side a new Historic spec SAAB 96V4 for Richard Simpson that will also appear mid season. The Volvo, probably the largest car on the historic rally scene, is currently undergoing a complete rebuild to period specification in the workshops of Thewaxworks sister company, SJR Historic Motorsport. It will be driven by Waxworks owner Simon Jackson. At time of writing a co-driver had yet to be confirmed. Watch this space!
2007 will be a development and learning year for the new car and driver with an all out championship assault planned for 2008.

SIMPSON/SIMPSON / 2004 RALLY YORKSHIRE
NESCRO CHAMPIONSHIP
Thewaxworks will also be represented in the 2007 NESCRO championship with Guyzance Actor and Playwright Stuart Howson making the occasional appearance in his 1969 SAAB 96V4 with partner Jill Hambleton in the Navigators seat. Stuart will also be traveling further afield this year to take in various road events in France. Stuart and Jill are regular competitors in the Rally Charente that runs alongside the popular Circuit des Ramparts in Angouleme.
Also competing will be Fife’s Father and Son pairing Colin and Craig Wallace. Always spectacular around the test sections, they will fit in as many NESCRO events as possible around Craig’s BHRC comitments in another SAAB 96V4.
